In the proposed scheme we always obtain a 2-D representation of the input device and then use the ICA to obtain the desired result.
Results of the application of the ICA algorithm to PSO data
In the next section, we report some tests performed on data obtained with the PSO by using the proposed algorithm.
In figure 13 we show the input device and the result after running the ICA with the proposed algorithm.

The columns of the figure correspond to the extraction obtained with each of the ICA components.
We start by comparing the PSO data with the video CD data used to test the ICA algorithm reported in the last section.
Concerning the image content of both PSO and video CD data, the ICA algorithm is able to extract the same motifs on the two images. In particular, the same motifs appear as the result of a background subtraction (figures 14 and 15).

Figure 16 shows the input device and the result after running the ICA with the proposed algorithm.

As mentioned earlier, the algorithm is able to detect, extract and isolate in their components the patterns of the input device.
Concerning the image content of both PSO data and PSO2D, the ICA algorithm is able to extract the same motifs. In particular, the same motifs appear as the result of a background subtraction (figures 17 and 18).
